IN MY LITTLE TOWN – A GIVEAWAY!
Written by Rocky Mountain Woman on January 21, 2011 – 12:37 pm -So, one of my first posts a year ago when I started this blog was about the Sundance Film Festival. I know it’s important to the economy and no one loves a good independent film more than me, but when you try to fit 40,000 people, more or less, into this little town, it’s a world class mess. I walked around a few nights ago with my camera and took a few shots of the calm before the storm

This is where I take yoga lessons (it gets rented out for private parties, so no yoga lessons for 10 days..sigh)

my favorite Sushi place – The Flying Sumo, cute, huh?

they make whiskey here, very expensive, very good whiskey (I can’t afford it). It’s also a restaurant and the food is amazing..

Anyhoo, in an effort to adjust my attitude about our lovely Sundance Film Festival, I am going to toddle on over there near the end of the festival..sigh..and pick up some official Sundance 2011 memorabilia and give it away to a lucky reader! I was going to do some sort of giveaway for my one year blogoversary last month, but decided to wait and do one during Sundance.
To enter, just leave a comment telling me your favorite movie of all time (I need some Netflix suggestions!)

Written by Rocky Mountain Woman on November 1, 2010 – 6:04 am -I made a commitment to begin writing a novel this month and post each chapter as soon as it’s done (scary!).
I spent the summer researching Utah history and Park City history in particular, did a few character sketches and joined a writing club. It’s now or never people!
The working title of my book will be “The Silver Queen”. It’s the story of a French born woman who moves to Utah with her husband to stake a claim to a silver mine. The plan is to write every morning before work for an hour or so (depending on how early I can drag myself out of bed) and post each first draft of each chapter as it’s finished. I seriously doubt I’ll be able to finish a first draft of the entire novel this month, but it will be a start.
I’m pretty nervous about the whole thing, so if any of you out there would like to join me, let me know. Maybe we can do something simple like subscribe to each other’s feeds for the purpose of giving feedback to each other. Kind of like an online writer’s workshop!
Come on, it’ll be fun!
