Florida, Part Deaux

Hmmmm…I remember vaguely posting some pictures from my trip to Florida to see my mother and then promising to post more “later”. It would appear that I forgot to post anymore. I did remember to post about the garlic wings, so I got the important stuff covered.

Anywhoo, here’s a few more:

Alligator in the Everglades

a few minutes after I took this, my two year old grandson laid down in front of the alligator to “get a better look”. All of the adults immediately dropped cameras, food, drinks, anything they were carrying and ran over to pick him up (scary for a moment).

this is a picture of the beach in the Keys where we ate dinner one night…conch fritters…………….they weren’t the best I’ve ever had, but they were the first I’d had in a couple of years, so they were wonderful…I soooo miss the seafood I enjoyed when I lived there!

and this is the dock next to our table..quite picturesque (like all of the Keys)

SALMON FISHING

I’m on vacation this week Salmon Fishing in Oregon, but I didn’t want to miss class, so I fired up the laptop to send a few pictures of my trip.  I caught a 20 lb. Chinook Salmon this morning in Garibaldi Oregon!

FLORIDA

My mother is slowing slipping away from her family so I decided she needed to see my little grandson before it was too late.  Warning:  gratuitous grandchild picture coming up…

While we were in South Florida, where I lived while my kids were young, we decided to try and eat every single food item that we missed from Florida, including, the thing I miss the most, Wings Plus Catskill Mountain Garlic Wings…  Wings Plus is in Ft. Lauderdale about a mile from where I used to live.  We would go there every Friday night for wings, fries & beer.

It may not look like much from the outside, but inside they make the most amazing hot wings known to mankind.  We took them back to our hotel, because my little grandson was getting tired and he really wanted something a little tamer to eat for dinner.  This, however, is what I ate:

I love living in Utah and Park City has some amazing restaurants, but this is my version of comfort food…..
