My friend has a lovely little cabin in the Uintas, and invited me to come up and help winterize it this weekend. Winterize? arghhh… Before long, this place will be inaccessible except by snowmobile or snowshoe until at least early June!

Anyway, it is just so beautiful up there that it takes my breath away…

wood pile for winter visitors (once in a while, when we are feeling really brave, we snowshoe in)

hmmm…yeah, that’s what it looks like, an outhouse…no indoor facilities here!

I love this place…..

Walk Along the Weber

Written by Rocky Mountain Woman on September 16, 2011 – 6:20 am -

There were a lot of dishes to be done at my house last night, and the kitchen was a mess. So I decided that a walk was in order!

I took my camera so I could share the beautiful Weber River with you..

an old car someone dumped here! Kinda cool in it’s own way, however…

V IS FOR VOLVER WINE (Tempranillo)

So, I’m starting to stock up for winter on big, full bodied red wines and I found one that I really like! It’s got plum undertones and is quite tannic, but not too tannic. It’s spicy and fruity, a dark red that will probably age well, inexpensive, everything one could want in a winter wine.

I’m going to put some away to serve with beef stews and steaks on the indoor grill this winter. After I drink this bottle that I opened to make sure it was good enough for you guys!

xxoo,

RMW
