ROCKY MOUNTAIN WOMAN BUILDS HER DREAM HOUSE – XII
Written by Rocky Mountain Woman on September 28, 2011 – 12:01 pm -This post is in honor of the letter “X” and part of Jenny Matlock’s Alphabet Thursday. For more takes on the letter “x”, please click here http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com/
So I hope you are ready for an update on the house, because here it is! I know that I am falling behind on my story (bad blogger), but I have been distracted with travel, food and wine! While I was running around the country, eating and drinking, progress was being made on the house. The next step was putting the forms in place so the concrete walls of the basement could be poured. Here’s what they looked like before they were put up…
and this is what it looked like after they were all up!
Onward and upward!!!
To be continued….

The location is super!

I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around seeing snow in September. It is 80 degrees today with no humidity and bright blue skies in Tennessee…a perfect day.

I was wondering how the house was doing! It looks like it is going to be a large house.

Did you ever have one of those ‘what am I doing?’ moments? The forms look like something that is coming down, rather than something going up – you were very brave and adventurous!

What a wonderful dream! You have to keep us posted as I know you will. What fun you have had.
I can not get into Jenny’s blog. Must be high traffic. As soon as I can, I will be posting! Have a great weekend! Anne

That is going to be a huge house. I too am wondering if there is a completion date. This has gone on for a really long time and I know you have had your contractor battles.

I love new houses even when they belong to someone else. I’ll be watching for more progress photos.

Yay! Your house is starting to look like a house now that the walls have been started! Can’t wait to see what your home looks like at the end

Hi Pondside,
Funny you ask about a “what am I doing moment”. You can see my place from the freeway and the night they got these forms up I was coming home from work, noticed the forms, pulled off the freeway and had a full on anxiety attack!

Hi Judie,
It’s actually 4500 square feet, but the entire basement (2200 square feet) is unfinished (at least for now). Actual living space is about 2300 square feet.

Your dream home amazes me. I know you must be so excited to see your dream coming true.
I too wish I could settle down with less stress so I could write.
