BANANA BREAD

Written by Rocky Mountain Woman on April 27, 2011 – 12:02 pm -

This post is in honor of the letter “B” and part of Jenny Matlock’s Alphabet Thursday. For more beautiful “B” posts, click here http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com/

This is sooooo amazing , warm from the oven with a little dab of butter. It’s Martha’s recipe, so you know it’s good!

Ingredient list:

1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups unbleached flour
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 cup mashed very ripe bananas
1/2 cup sour cream
1 t vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

I apologize in advance for the “action mixer shots”, I just couldn’t help myself….

Cream the butter

sugar

add the eggs and mix thoroughly

Sift the dry ingredients and add slowly to the butter, sugar egg mixture

add the mashed bananas, sour cream and vanilla, mix thoroughly

Stir in the nuts and pour into one large or several smaller loaf pans which have been slathered in butter

Bake for about 1 hour at 350 degrees and enjoy
